Valmor Pedretti Jr, a brazilian drummer, had just started listening to the legendary "Interestellar Suite" album by canadian composer Amin Bhatia, and this idea struck his mind :
"What if those great epic old school keyboards met the modern heavy guitars of today?
How would it be if Keith Emerson and Jim Matheos decided to jam a few tracks with their respective styles?"

So, with this concept in mind, he started the search for a keyboard player that could make this come true. He found his perfect match in Fabien Labonde, french musician and composer, member of Jordan Rudess' web forum. The rules were quickly set up and production started just as quick.
Valmor brings the core (drums, guitars and bass), Fabien adds his parts (piano, organ, leads, pads and drums overdubs) and sends them to Valmor across the Atlantic Ocean.
The first song was done in a couple of days in may 2006. The fourth one in july 2007.

The New Myth now hopes that everybody will also enjoy this new mixture !

Valmor Pedretti Jr, un batteur brésilien, a découvert la musique du compositeur canadien Amin Bhatia avec l'album 'Interestellar Suite" : morceaux épiques, synthés prédominants, héritage du piano et de l'orgue du jazz rock prog des grandes années. Également amateur du gros son moderne des guitares, il s'est demandé ce qui résulterait de la fusion de ces deux univers sonores.

Il s'est donc mis à la recherche d'un pianiste qui pourrait l'aider à concrétiser son projet. Il a trouvé le partenaire idéal en la personne de Fabien Labonde, compositeur et claviériste français, sur le forum de Jordan Rudess.

Rapidement, les deux musiciens, réunis sous le nom "The New Myth" ont défini le concept : Valmor apporte le noyau des morceaux (batterie, basse et guitares), Fabien adapte la structure, compose les pistes de piano, orgue, synthés, effets et ajoute quelques boucles de batterie, puis Valmor mixe le tout. Les échanges se font par mail de part et d'autre de l'Océan Atlantique de 2006 à 2011, Valmor et Fabien travaillant également sur leurs compositions personnelles (respectivement : Worldengine et Tarraô).
